Learning to cook frozen food
First the instructor chef, keep a small briefing regarding the process of making, process of packing, process of storage and many more tips.
After that, all moves to cooking class...The filling is already prepared by the instructor, and each table receive 2 bowls of filling, one for samosa, and one for curry puff.
Each table must make their own dough for curry puff...We made the curry puff as per instructor guidelines and recipe, leave the dough for 1 hour...in the mean time we start folding the samosa.
For samosa we use the samosa skin purchased from market. It`s a very funny work with frequent mistakes on how to fold it, until finally we learned how to fold a samosa 'perfectly'. After that the samosa were fried.
After an hour passed we can start filling the curry puff,we used a plastic mold for the curry puff, a scale to weigh the dough, and a cup of water. The water is used to stick the curry puff like an adhesive.
Once ready the curry puffs are deep fried.
The class, briefing, cooking process took more than half a day, but it`s worth it. You can do your own frozen food at home or you can start a business from it.
The course cost: 40 RM
Lunch and mineral water provided for lunch.
